Staccato P Disassembly

Step-by-step instructions to disassemble and reassemble your Staccato P 2011.

Staccato P

The embedded video, produced by our Customer Service Team, serves as this week’s installment of Maintenance Monday – covering basic disassembly/reassembly of the Staccato P. You are welcome to follow our step-by-step written instructions or simply follow along in the video. If you have any other maintenance/disassembly questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at customer.service@staccato2011.com

Disassembly

  1. Ensure your pistol is unloaded, and the work area is free of ammunition. Lock the slide back and visually inspect the chamber and magwell.
  2. Move the slide back to align the takedown notch with the slide stop knuckle.
  3. Press on the slide stop from the opposite side with your finger or a small tool and remove the slide stop.
  4. Pull the slide forward and off the frame.
  5. Push forward on the guide rod flange to expose the takedown lever on the Dawson toolless guide rod.
  6. Press the takedown lever and lower it so that it rests on the edge of the reverse plug.
  7. Remove the captured system from the slide out through the back.
  8. Slide the barrel link forward and slide it out through the front of the slide.
  9. Use a brush to clean any debris off the outside of the barrel or the slide
  10. Using a bore brush to clean the bore from breech to muzzle, repeat as many times as needed
  11. Oil the bore of your barrel after cleaning
  12. Run a cleaning patch through the bore to remove excess oil.
  13. IF APPLICABLE: Remove carbon build-up from inside your compensator and apply a thin layer of CLP to the inside of the comp.
  14. Apply lubricant to slide rails and barrel contact points. (Link out to lubrication article)

Reassembly

  1. Make sure the barrel link is forward, then re-install the barrel through the front of the slide.
  2. Insert the guide rod into place and push on the rear of the flange to release the takedown lever, gently lowering it into place.
  3. Line up the slide rails on the frame and reinstall the slide. NOTE: Be sure that the guide rod flange is pushed up against the barrel and not kicking out towards the frame, and that the barrel is not rotated to either side. This can prevent the top end from fully sliding onto the lower.
  4. Look for the link through the slide stop hole in your frame. The pin on the slide stop must slide through the link in order to function properly. NOTE: If the link hole is not lined up, you can use a tool to drop it into place.
  5. Insert your slide stop into your frame through the link hole and rest it gently against your frame.
  6. Pull the slide back to line up your take down notch with the knuckle of your slide stop and fully seat the slide stop into your frame.
  7. Rack the slide to check for proper function.
